Still not sure what the Travel Festival is all about? In this FAQ we'll try to answer all your questions related to the series of online talks. Hopefully you'll have an idea about the concept, once you've made it to the bottom of this page.
What is the KILROY Travel Festival?
The KILROY Travel Festival is 1 week of online travel talks and hacks that provide inspiration on how to travel, where to go, what to experience, and who to go with.
You'll experience travel from a whole new perspective, learn new things and maybe even meet a few future travel buddies!
The festival will take place on the 10-14 October 2022 and will be broadcasted live through a series of online webinars and interactive sessions as well as physical events in our local markets. Attending the online sessions are completely free and there is no limit to the number of sessions you can register for.
Is it only online?
No. Well, all our sessions are online except from one. In each of our local markets (Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Netherlands & Belgium) we will host a physical event as well - but amount of seats are limited, so make sure you register in time. You can find your local physical event here.
When is it?
The online part of the KILROY Travel Festival will take place on the 10-14 October 2022. We start every day at 5:00pm CEST and finishes around 9pm. The physical events are on Thursday or Friday - see your local program.
Where and how do I sign up?
Signing up to the KILROY Travel Festival is easy. Simply click on the sessions you would like to attend in the overview and sign up with your name and e-mail. You will get a confirmation e-mail (in English) that secures your spot and sends you a reminder the day of the event.
If you want to attend more sessions during the festival week, then you simply repeat the process for each session.
How do I access the session?
Once you sign up to an event, you will receive an e-mail with a link to the session you registered for. You will be able to access the virtual waiting room 15 minutes prior to the session starts, but we recommend hopping onto the session a few minutes before it goes live.
The link found in your email will connect you to the session through your preferred browser. You can access the sessions through your preferred device (mobile, laptop, tablet)
Will the sessions be in my own language or in English?
All sessions will be held in English as we have speakers from around the globe! While our team consists of individuals who can speak all the Nordic languages and Dutch, we prefer that participants interact in the chat in English so everyone can openly contribute and follow the same conversation. If you are not able to communicate in English, we invite you to email us so we can arrange a time to answer any of your travel related questions in your local language!
How do I attend and watch the session?
Once you have signed up to an event, you have received an e-mail with a link to the session. You will be able to access the virtual waiting room 15 minutes prior to the session starts, but we recommend you to just click the link a few minutes before the session is supposed to start.
Is it free?
All sessions are 100% FREE and you can attend as many or as few sessions as you want.
I registered for a session, but can't make it. Will I be able to watch in on-demand?
Stuff happens, we know. All sessions will be recorded live and will be sent out to those registered for the event the following day.
I want to attend a session, but cannot make it on that day. What do I do?
In that case we still recommend that you sign up to the session you want to attend and watch it on-demand at a later date. We will send out an e-mail to you with a unique link to the recording the day after the session starts if you were registered for the session.
I like all the sessions - can I sign up for all sessions at once?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to register for all the sessions at once single time. We would love to have you join all sessions, but you must register to each individually with your name and email.
What should I expect from attending a session during the Travel Festival?
Our goal with the 2021 KILROY Travel Festival is to provide travel inspiration and expert advice in hopes that you can learn a thing or two before your next adventure abroad. All of our speakers have a lot of expertise within their field and have been carefully selected to not only provide you with the mainstream cookie-cutter vacation info, but to provide insider tips and perhaps challenge you a bit about the way you think of travel today.
Who are the speakers at the Travel Festival?
Speakers will vary a lot depending on which session you attend. Speakers include both internal and external experts – from travel consultants to travel operators to bloggers and to climate ambassadors. You can review the different speakers by browsing the separate session pages.

The link doesn't work?
Our webinar events require registration before going live. If your link is not working, please try to re-register for the session you are trying to join. You may also want to try to join the session from a different browser and should ensure that any pop-up blockers are turned off. We will be sure to share the recording of the event with all those that were registered – so if you run into any issues joining in real time, you can still review all of the information shared in the recording.
The sound or video is lagging?
A sound or video delay is most likely the result of poor internet connection. If you experience this during the festival, we recommend trying to connect to a reliable internet source or to your mobile network if internet connection is poor.
