Manaslu Mountain Tea House Trek

Day 1: Kathmandu to Soti Khola

We started our journey with a bumpy drive to Soti Khola from Kathmandu. We'll be driving through beautiful landscapes, rivers and river valleys. We might need to change the bus in Arughat or even walk depending on road conditions.

Day 2: Soti Khola (880m) to Machhakhola (890m, trekking time 6-7 hours)

The first part of the day begins with uphill walk-through deep forest, encounter several ascends and descends, then we'll climb the paddies just prior to the beautiful Gurung village. Away from the valley, the trail goes down onto the banks of river to the village of Machhakhola (Fish River) just above the river, which offers the good views of Ganesh Himal.

Day 3: Machhakhola (890m) to Jagat (1410m, trekking time 6-7 hours)

Following the forest path, until we arrive at Tatopani (meaning hot water). You'll pass by the natural hot water springs and reach Dobhan. It's an advantage to experience the rapids of Budhi Gandaki. At Lauri, we'll cross the river on a suspension bridge and then get ready to go up on a high pathway to the grassland of Jagat.

Day 4: Jagat (1410m) to Philim (1519m, trekking time 4-5 hours)

On this day, we'll cross the West bank of Budhi Gandaki and go up a fold. Following the river smoothly uphill to the village of Sirdibas and moving down to Sirdibas. We'll meet an added suspension bridge, which leads to the East bank that gives an exhausting ascent up to Philim. Philim is a flourishing Gurung Village, the Chholing Sandu Gompa, which is bounded by the grassland of maize and millet.

Day 5: Philim (1519m) to Deng (2360m, trekking time 6-7 hours)

Crossing the top of stunning gorge and entering the unoccupied area of pine trees before dropping to a trail junction at New Bridge. We'll be following the trail towards the left to Ghap, the Budhi Gandaki and then continue into its narrow gorge on an up-and-down trail with river crossings. After suspension bridge, the trail enters bamboo forest and rises to the village of Deng.

Day 6: Deng (2360m) to Namrung (2660m, trekking time 6-7 hours)

Start the day with easy ascending, followed by a steep uphill walk. Then we'll cross the bridge over the river, where it goes down to a gorge, which the forest thins, and the trail becomes easier. Then we'll ascend through the bamboo forest of Rhododendron and the hydroelectric plant to Namrung.

Day 7: Namrung (2660m) to Samagaon (3530m, trekking time 5-6 hours)

We'll take the trail that crosses the bridge over Numla Khola (Numla River) that exhausts the Pungyen Glacier from the Manaslu, the trail shows the pattern to Pungyen Gompa. The main part of Samagaon is formed with the two rows of houses and is a village development committee in Gorkha District in the Gandaki Zone of northern-central Nepal. Above the far end of the village, overlooking the valley stands the Kargyu Chholing Monastery.

Day 8: Samagaon (3530m)

Today, we had an easy and comfortable day with a short exploration to the village and monasteries. You can also hike to Birendra Tal (A freshwater lake) and Manaslu base camp.

Day 9: Samagaon (3530m) to Samdo (3780m, trekking time 4-5 hours)

We'll trek to Samdo and have our breakfast early this morning. Samdo is the community of a group of people, whose houses are situated at the back of an edge. In the afternoon, we'll walk to the viewpoint on the Pana Danda. We can also go to Samdo Peak, the Northeast that presents the best views of Manaslu.

Day 10: Samdo (3780m) to Dharmasala (4460m, trekking time 4-5 hours)

We'll take the uphill alpine walk for about 4 hours, where we'll be surrounded by perfect mountain views. Once arriving in Dharmasala, you can take a rest and be prepared for the next day's journey.

Day 11: Dharamsala (4460m) to Bimthang (3720m, trekking time 8-9 hours)

We started our day early this morning heading to Larke La Pass with an easy ascent. The climb doesn't take so much technique but requires patience. You'll enjoy the stunning mountains and valleys from the pass, while continuing descending to Bimthang. It's a long downhill walk from the pass, which needs a lot of patience and control. Bimthang is a wide valley with adequate numbers of stone walls and abandoned houses.

Day 12: Bimthang (3720m) to Goa (2515m, trekking time 5-6 hours)

Today, we continue our journey towards Goa from Bimtang through dense mixed forest and some tiny settlements to get to this peaceful small village of Goa.

Day 13: Goa (2515m) to Chamje  (1430m, trekking time 6-7 hours)

We descend down from Goa to Dharapani, which joins the main Annapurna circuite trail. Then we'll follow the road to Chamje, passing by some nice waterfalls, passing through the beautiful place of Tal that is situated next to the riverbank with beautiful surroundings until we arrive at Chamje.

Day 14: Chamje to Kathmandu

After completing your beautiful trek, you'll take a long drive back to Kathmandu (about 9 hours' drive).
