Antigua is among the world's best preserved colonial cities, it is a magical small town that will make you feel like time stopped 300 years ago. Visit Antigua's most important and significant landmarks, before your afternoon visit to the most active volcano in Guatemala; Pacaya Volcano. At 2500m you will experience its humid forest from where you will enjoy impressive views of the Calderas lagoon and 3 other volcanoes. Overnight in Antigua.
You don't need any special training to hike the volcano, but please wear hiking boots and long pants.

Today we will travel to the beautiful Lake Atitlan.

Lake Atitlan - San Juan La Laguna & Santiago de Atitlan - Guatemala City (B)
Today you will visit one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, lake Atitlan. Atitlan translates from Mayan as "the place where the rainbow gets its colours". Upon arrival, discover all the magic that Panajachel holds before taking a boat to cross the lake and visit two different Tzutuhil Villages. Visit a small town around the lake, where you'll be able to experience the authentic Mayan culture and then transfer to Santiago de Atitlan to visit the local Saint named Maximon or Ri Laj Mam. This Saint is visited by people of many different backgrounds who come to ask for health and prosperity. Whether you believe or not, make sure to enjoy this wonderful experience. Transfer back to Panajachel by boat to have lunch (not included), before getting settled in to your Guatemala City accommodation, where you will overnight.

Today you will take a flight to Flores to visit Tikal, the second largest city of the Mayan World.

Take an early morning flight to Flores, Peten. Upon arrival you will be transferred to one of the most important archaeological sites of the Mayan World, Tikal, which translates to "Place of the Voices." This site is considered the second largest city in the Mayan World. Upon arrival your guide will show you the layout of the complex temples and Acropolis. After your tour, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Guatemala City. Overnight in Guatemala City.
