Just a few days to discover Patagonia? Combine the pleasant trails close to El Chalten to go for self guided hikes and then visit el Calafate to go to the Glaciers National Park to see the famous Perito Moreno Glacier.

El Chalten + El Calafate, Glaciers and Trekking - 6 Days

Day 1: El Chalten

Arrival to El Calafate Airport. Transfer with shuttle to El Chalten. Check in at accommodation. If arriving by bus, bus from El Calafate to El Chalten.

Note: the shuttle from El Calafate airport to El Chalten has a fixed timetable. If the arrival time of your flight is outside the shuttle times, we can reverse the direction and begin in El Calafate to end in El Chalten.

Day 2: El Chalten

Free day to discover the self guided treks of the Glaciers Nationl Park, north section. From the village you can take a series of marked trails that will lead you to the Laguna de los Tres, to the base of Mount Fitz Roy or to Cerro Torre. Beautiful, easy and you can trek as much as you want.

Day 3: El Chalten

Free day to try self guided hikes.

Day 4: El Chalten - El Calafate

Check out, walk to the bus station to take the 08:00 bus to El Calafate. Arrival at 11:00. Walk to your accommodation and check in. Free afternoon.

Day 5: El Calafate

Breakfast, and then get ready to be picked up to visit the famous Perito Moreno Glacier.

This Perito Moreno Glacier tour is a wonderful opportunity for travelers to explore and experience one of Argentina’s top attractions! This day tour into the Los Glaciares National Park offers exceptional views of Patagonia’s most famous glacier, the incredible Perito Moreno as you are guided along the wooden walk ways.

The Perito Moreno full day excursion will begin taking you from central El Calafate towards the Los Glaciares National Park, an area of exceptional natural beauty and a UNESCO National Heritage site. This is the classic tour to sightsee the Perito Moreno Glacier and the best option to get an overview and see it from above. A full-day tour through Los Glaciares National Park, in which Perito Moreno lies, it gives you the chance to really appreciate the glacier’s sheer magnitude, as you walk across the Pasarelas (heightened wooden walk ways) along the shores of Lake Argentino. Following the Perito Moreno tour circuit you will finally reach the boardwalks of the Perito Moreno Glacier, where you will have three hours to explore and sightsee Perito Moreno’s enormous 60-meter wall of ice floating on the surface of Lake Argentino.

The Perito Moreno Glacier is Patagonia’s most famous attraction and a truly unique, breath-taking spectacle of nature that you cannot miss. Afterwards, it's back to your accommodation.

Day 6: El Calafate

Breakfast. Check out and transfer to El Calafate airport. End of trip.
