Catch a morning bus towards Old Bar (Stari Bar) located above the Old Town Bar and stretched up to the mountains. Over the centuries Stari Bar has been taken over by the Venetians, the Serbians, the Hungarians, and the Ottoman Empire. It must have once been an impressive fortified town full of dedications to deities, grand buildings for the nobility, and a residential and commercial hub for the common people. For more than a millennium, it was an important part of this region. Today it lies in ruins. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
After breakfast, it's time to check out. You’ll take a train to Virpazar and Lake Skadar. Guided kayaking on Skadar Lake will allow you to take a closer look at one of the last freshwater marshes in the Mediterranean with the largest bird sanctuary, and the last habitat for pelicans in Europe. An additional purpose of this kayaking is to experience the largest lake in the Balkans, its rich flora and fauna, history from various periods and different cultures that left their marks on all these areas. While floating through water-lily pads, you’ll be able to see the numerous small islands with medieval fortifications and monasteries, rare bird species and unique bond of history and nature.
The fisherman's villages with authentic architecture, the beaches, coves and the opulent vegetation, carp and bleak as local specialities, Crmničko wine and Loza brandy - all of these make the magnificence of the region complete. During kayaking, you will have plenty of places and opportunities for swimming. Before you take the afternoon train to Podgorica, try a delicious lunch in some of Virpazar's restaurants. You have a free late afternoon to explore Montenegro's capital city Podgorica, so spend the day exploring the city and local sights.
