Conditions of this pass
- To travel with a Adult Pass, you must be aged from 28+ up to 60 and including 28 on the start date of the Interrail Pass.
- Only residents living in Europe can travel with an Interrail Pass.
- The Interrail Global Pass is only valid for travel in your country of residence during one outbound journey and one inbound journey that occur during the travel days being used at any point in your trip.
- Most high-speed and night trains do require a reservation at an additional cost.
(It is usually possible to make the same journey by regional train, with longer traveling times & additional connections without an additional cost of a seat reservation.)
- 1st class Passes are valid in both 1st and 2nd class carriages. 2nd class Passes are only valid in 2nd class carriages. 1st classes passes still require a seat reservations on mandatory routes.
- All standard Global Interrail Passes are 85% refundable or exchangeable if they are unused before the 1st day of travel. 15% is retained as a cancelation fee.
- Promotional Interrail Passes sold during a sale period are not refundable or exchangeable.
- Railway personnel are always entitled to ask the customer for identity in the form of passport or national ID card. It Is important to carry your passport or European ID card with your Interrail Pass when traveling as it can be requested by train staff checking your pass matches your identity. those who travel with a Rail Pass without a passport, or a legal equivalent may be subjected to the payment of a full-fare ticket and a certain fine, subject to the rules of the relevant Railway Company.
- Your country of residence must be indicated during the order process and this country will be shown on your actual pass.
- In case the country where you live and/or work -your official country of residence- is different than the nationality in your passport or legal equivalent, the country where you live and/or work prevails and should be indicated when ordering the Pass. E.G: An Australian citizen living in the Netherlands, The Netherlands must be selected when ordering the pass.
- Citizenship can be proven by means of a valid passport or legal equivalent. Residency can be proven by means of official residence documents issued by the government. This must be a document that clearly proves that the Customer is registered in the country where they live. Such documents vary by country.


Additional conditions for Adults with Children
- Children under 4 travel for free and do not need an Interrail Pass. You may be asked to sit a child under 4 on your lap during busy times.
- Children aged 4 to 11 travel for free with a Child Pass. A child must be accompanied at all times by at least one person with an Adult Pass. This doesn’t have to be a family member and can be anyone over 18.
- Up to 2 children can travel with 1 adult. For example, when 2 adults are traveling, they can take 4 children with them. If more than 2 children are traveling with 1 adult, a separate Youth Pass must be purchased for each additional child.
- Children under 12 travel in the same travel class as the accompanying adult.
- Travelers aged 12 to 27 can travel with a Youth Pass.
