Fashion waste is a big problem—and this is where you learn what’s being done about it. On this hands-on experience with NYC non-profit FABSCRAP, you’ll dive into the world of textile recycling, discover how mountains of unused fabric are being rescued from landfill, and roll up your sleeves to create something of your own.
After exploring the historic Brooklyn Army Terminal and visiting the FutureWorks MakerSpace, you’ll get a guided intro to FABSCRAP’s sorting and reuse process. Then it’s time to upcycle: make your own tote, pillowcase, zipper pouch—whatever feels right—with support from local makers. A creative, team-focused way to turn fashion waste into something useful (and fun).
