Governor's Island Social Impact Tour

It’s not every day you meet oysters, goats, and compost piles with a view of the Manhattan skyline. On this experience, you’ll explore Governor’s Island and learn how this slice of NYC is turning into a model for climate education, food justice, and regenerative farming.
You’ll visit a 1.5-acre teaching garden that helps thousands of New Yorkers learn to grow their own food, stop by the Billion Oyster Project nursery that’s bringing marine life back to the harbour, and check out Earth Matter NY’s zero-waste composting site—complete with farm animals and edible crops. Expect big-picture ideas, hands-on examples, and a fresh take on what cities can do for the planet. (Note: This tour only runs May–October, so it’s best for autumn groups.)
