A digital discovery through history, housing, and hidden stories.

Where architecture meets activism – a rally for curious minds:
This self-guided digital tour takes student groups into Hamburg’s alternative neighborhoods: St. Pauli and Schanzenviertel. Away from tourist crowds, teams explore 19th-century housing, social change and urban transformation – at their own pace and on their own devices.
With 15 stops and interactive tasks, students uncover how Hamburg’s cityscape evolved: from cooperative housing and zoning laws to creative resistance and pop culture. Terraced homes, alleyways, and working-class history become tools for learning about architecture, identity and resilience.
An educational city rally that makes space for reflection, teamwork, and unexpected stories.
• Starting point: Clemens-Schultz-Straße (near St. Pauli U-Bahn station)

• End point: In front of the Holstentor (near Messehallen U-Bahn station)

• Distance covered: around 3 km.

• It is recommended to divide participants into groups of 3-4 people.
