London might shine on the surface, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find centuries of trash beneath your feet—literally. This alternative walking tour across the Isle of Dogs to Greenwich takes you through the city’s waste-filled past and into the future of urban sustainability.
Led by environmental lawyer-turned-storyteller Rosie Oliver, you’ll pass historic landfills, muddy docks, and once-forgotten riverbanks while hearing the stories of the people who lived (and dumped) there. Along the way, you’ll learn about the environmental impact of London’s rubbish, how it shaped entire communities, and how the city is rethinking waste today.
This tour mixes quirky local history with real-world sustainability challenges—showing how even garbage can tell us something meaningful about how cities live, grow, and (hopefully) clean up after themselves.
