Discover Santa Marta, America’s oldest surviving city. Arrive to Santa Marta on Day 1 and take an arrival airport transfer to your hostel. On Day 2, make a visit to the tiny coffee-town of Minca, an ecological paradise with a crystal clear river, lush green vegetation, and exquisite coffee. Enjoy a short hike to a beautiful waterfall and a typical lunch at the village. Enjoy a free day on Day 3 to explore Santa Marta on your own. Your trip ends as you check out of your hostel in the morning on Day 4.
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Santa Marta Airport Pick-Up
As you arrive in Santa Marta, you will be picked up at the airport for your arrival transfer to your accommodation and have the rest of the day at leisure to relax and taste some delicious colombian food. Overnight in Santa Marta.
Day 2: Minca Day Tour (L)
Today you will visit Minca, a small coffee town of five hundred inhabitants, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and lost in the lush vegetation. This town is an ecological paradise with a crystal clear river and a lush green vegetation where the most exotic flowers and exquisite coffee are grown.
After making your way to the meeting point (Carrera 3 # 17-27 - Centro Histórico), begin your trip through winding roads for about 45 minutes by car before hiking for about 30 minutes through the dense forest to a beautiful waterfall where you can take a break and refresh. Later return to the village to enjoy a typical lunch before taking another walk that will give you the opportunity to do birdwatching, visit some typical guadua (bamboo) houses, and coffee farms. After the tour you will be dropped-off back at the meeting point.
Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure relaxing after the long day and enjoy a night out in one of the many salsa bars if you wish. Overnight in Santa Marta.
Day 3: Santa Marta Free Day
Enjoy the day at leisure to explore the city on your own. Enjoy the beach here or travel to nearby Taganga, a small fisherman town known for inexpensive scuba diving and its nightlife. Overnight in Santa Marta.
Day 4: Santa Marta Departure
Today it is time to say goodbye to your new friends. After checking-out from your accommodation, this amazing adventure will come to an end.
