If you want to learn how to dive, taking the first step in the warm waters around Koh Phi Phi Island is a pretty solid choice! This world-famous diving destination has so much to offer. Soft, white, coconut beaches, secluded bays surrounded by stunning cliffs, overgrown with lush jungle and calm turquoise waters contrasts the cool and atmospheric village of Phi Phi. With all its diversity, of handy little craft shops, fantastic Thai restaurants and a plethora of beach and rooftop bars It is such a special island. But the main draw is the amazing marine life and the spectacular shallow reefs, making the diving easy and the perfect place to GET YOUR PADI! The first step is Theory, which can be done from home, online or at the dive center in the classrooms. The next step is to practice and develop your diving skills in the shallow and calm waters just off the beach. Dead easy! As you progress you will join the dive boat on the last two days of the course and visit the best dive sites the island has to offer. Two amazing dives each day at amazing locations such as Maya Bay, the Bida islands and Phi Phi Ley Island, will turn this course into the perfect memory.
There are many reasons why travelers flog the beaches of Koh Phi Phi. For sure, the island itself is one point. It is tropically lush and has an atmosphere that has its visitors extending their stay again and again. (So be sure to book enough extra nights, or you might have to sleep on the beach!). It is forever LOVED for its white beaches, clustered hippie village atmosphere and the famous parties. But, the diving deserves a great deal of attention too! Around Koh Phi Phi, you will find dive sites that varies tremendously in both topography and marine life. From shallow bays with slowly sloping reefs, to offshore islands with larger walls and mystic caverns, you will not get bored! Jump in with your dive master and explore the corals and its inhabitants. If you look closely, you will find that Koh Phi Phi's dive sites has a great deal of weird macro life that is rare and special to most divers. And, in season, you might get lucky seeing the gracious Manta Rays, but if you don't it's all good. We're sure you'll love the warm blue water and its cool fish life any way! Go go go!
You gotta be out a bit early! Koh Phi Phi is, for good reasons, one of the most popular islands in Thailand. The rooms get completely booked out in peak season, and you will understand why when you get there. The island has everything from the crazy fairy-looking wooden bar on the beach with stunning sunsets to some of the best Thai cuisine we’ve ever tasted. It is hard to describe the narrow little merchant streets that the Phi Phi village is made of, they have to be experienced. And so does the parties. They are hard to find alike! Just remember to wait until you finish your course… cause you will most likely be up all night.
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular diving certificate worldwide. After completing this 3-4 day course you are certified to dive to 18m independently with a buddy. The course consists of five modules of learning. You study via self-study and complete a knowledge review. This process is assisted by videos accompanying each chapter to reinforce what you have learned.
If you chose the online option you can save a day of studying as you will have already completed the theory before arriving to Phi Phi Island. Instead, you will be given the 30 minute PADI Quick Review Quiz that will assess your understanding of the theory.
If you chose to study at the dive center, the instructor reviews everything with you to ensure that everything are confidently understood.
The practical learning consists of pool sessions and four open water dives. Dive one and two are conducted at a depth of max 12m and dive three and four are conducted at max 18m. The final stage of the PADI Open Water course is an exam, which is a multiple choice exam covering all that you have learnt. Remember that the course is performance based and not time based. The course generally takes 3 to 4 days, with the theoretical, the pool and the open water part successfully passed.
PADI Certification Pak
Each student is provided their own PADI Certification Pak which includes the Digital Open Water Diver manual and PADI certification credit. This certification pak is not included in this package and is payable at the dive center.

DIVE PACKAGE:The PADI Open Water Course is performance based. That means you have to understand and pass the theory and perform the in-water skills correctly and with ease. Therefore, the itinerary can vary slightly from course to course. The course will take 3 to 4 days depending on the pace of development and which study option is chosen.
